my chain bounces around alot when jumping i know u can get tensioners what are goods 1 to get and where do the fit

cheers
Trail_Builder

do you run gears or singlespeed?
darksideby182

gears but will go single speed at some point
coles m

what frame do you have, and how much are you wanting to spend?
on the cheap end there is the dmr stuff, you can get just a roller that tightens your chain around the front ring which shoul do the job
darksideby182

got a saracen zen 1 frame dont mind spending 20-30 quid
cheers

truvativ box guide for sure.

ive ran mine on my santa cruz for 3 years and never dropped a chain. stricitly speaking its the cheapest part on my bike (like qualitywise), yet lasted just about the longest.

40 quid or somethin they are.
darksideby182

just had a look at that on google looks like it will do the job nice 1
Trail_Builder

hit me a pm if you have troubles fitting it.

i've fitted like 4 of them on 4 dif bikes over time lol.
chizzle

yup including mine lol
still working perfectly
coles m

mine was fine for two years,
might still have it in my garage actually, will have a rumage

he rides a zen, pretty sure that doesnt have ISCG, which means he's gonna need a BB mount, thats an extra £15ish and can pose problems with the boxguide. Because the box guides are a two peice chain device its thicker around the ISCG tab than many other devies and can cause a lot of problems with cranks, its one I encountered when fitting my box guide on my kona, now i just run the lower roller part and havnt had any problems

Just something might need checking out
Trail_Builder

yeah I know how to modify box guide to fit most cranks.

I've had to twice, but I can easily explain it to him by pm, or even help him if need be. it's not too hard.

the only cranks ive seen that straight up dont work with the box guide is the dmr cheiftrains, but they are poorly desgined, and shouldn't really ever be used with gears lol.
darksideby182

what is iscg by the way
Trail_Builder

its those 3 lil bolt hole tabs things around the bb hole that you can bolt chainguides to on some frames.
Drew

international Standard Chain Guide (mounts)? i think thats it, i refuse to cheat with google lol
darksideby182

Go forth and spread the word, for the forum will not grow by itself. Southern England needs a bigger freeride scene, and this forum should hopefully develop one...
